The photographs show the cardigan and dress worn as a set, because that's how they're designed to look. Each order is for one item only — whichever you select under Style.

If you want the complete look shown in the images, add both to your basket. In the same colour they read as a coordinated two-piece; in different colours you get more combinations from the two.

The cardigan

An open, full-length layer with more detail than the price suggests. It comes with a matching self-tie belt, so it can hang open and loose or be drawn in at the waist.

It has pockets — genuinely useful on a long open layer and often missing at this price. The shoulders are softly ruched into a gentle puff, and the cuffs fasten with small buttons. Neither is loud, but together they're what stop it looking like a plain jersey robe.

The dress

The full-length piece worn on its own, or underneath the cardigan. Simpler and more covering — the option if you want a single garment rather than a layer.

Seven colours

Black and grey are the neutrals that go with everything. Brown is warmer and easier in daylight than black. Apricot and skin pink are the soft, light options — both photograph beautifully and look considerably more expensive than they are.

Sapphire blue and purplish red are the two with real presence. Deep enough to stay elegant rather than loud, and harder to find than another black abaya.

The fabric

A soft jersey-knit polyester with enough weight to drape properly and enough stretch to move with you. It's comfortable to wear all day and holds its shape through washing rather than sagging at the cuffs and hem.

Be realistic about the weight: this is a covering layer, not a warm one. In a British winter the cardigan goes over a jumper rather than instead of one.

Sizing

Available in S, M, L, XL and 2XL, in both the cardigan and the dress, across all seven colours.

These are cut on Asian sizing, which runs one to two sizes smaller than UK equivalents — most UK customers should order at least one size up from their usual. The jersey stretch and the cardigan's tie belt give reasonable latitude. If you're buying both pieces, order the same size in each — the dress is cut to sit under the cardigan.

The manufacturer supplies the size chart as an image and we haven't transcribed the exact figures. Rather than publish measurements we can't verify, email support@worldoftrendz.com with your usual UK size and your height and we'll confirm which to order.

Care

Machine wash cool on a gentle cycle, inside out to protect the cuff buttons. Wash the deeper colours — sapphire blue, purplish red, brown — separately for the first few washes, as dye can transfer onto the paler shades. Hang to dry rather than tumble drying; heat degrades the stretch in a jersey knit and it doesn't recover. Cool iron if needed. Don't bleach.
