Top-grain cowhide is the outermost layer of the hide — the part with the tight grain structure and the strength. It is the reason a good leather jacket outlives the person who bought it, and the reason this one costs what it does rather than what a bonded-leather jacket costs.
The cut is a clean stand-collar biker: zip front, no lapels, nothing decorative. Cowhide is a heavier, more structured leather than lambskin, so it holds its shape rather than draping. Expect it to feel stiff for the first couple of weeks. That is normal and it is the point — cowhide breaks in to the shape of the person wearing it, and creases where you bend rather than where a factory pressed it.
Black or Aged Black
Black is the uniform choice: even, dark, smart enough for most things.
Aged black is finished to look worn in from day one — the surface is distressed so the high points sit lighter than the creases. If you want the look of a jacket you have owned for a decade without waiting a decade, this is the one. It is the more characterful option and the harder one to pull off in formal settings.
What to expect from real cowhide
Genuine hide is not uniform. Grain varies across the panels, and small marks from the animal's life are visible in the surface. These are not faults — they are the difference between a natural material and a printed synthetic. Each jacket differs slightly from the photographs for this reason.
Size guide
All measurements are of the garment itself, in centimetres — not body measurements. The most reliable method is to lay a jacket you already own flat, measure across it, and match it to the table.
| Size | Chest (cm) | Shoulder (cm) | Sleeve (cm) | Length (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 103 | 45 | 63 | 63 |
| M | 108 | 47 | 64 | 64 |
| L | 114 | 48 | 65 | 66 |
Allow 2–3cm variance, as these are measured by hand.
These are cut on Asian sizing, which runs smaller than UK sizing. Cowhide also has very little give, so a jacket that is snug on arrival will stay snug — if you are between sizes, take the larger one.

Care
Cowhide rewards a little maintenance. Wipe with a barely damp cloth and let it dry naturally, well away from radiators — direct heat is what dries hide out and cracks it. Use a leather conditioner once or twice a year. Hang it on a broad wooden hanger so the shoulders keep their shape. Never machine wash it, and never put it near a tumble dryer.

Machine wash cold. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach.
