Women's Faux Leather & Shearling Coat | Mid-Length UK

A mid-length coat built from two fabrics: smooth black PU leather across the shoulders, chest and sleeves, and a dense shearling-look teddy fabric forming the whole lower skirt, the collar and the cuff panels.

That contrast is the design. The leather half gives structure and wind resistance where you need it; the textured half adds warmth and softness through the skirt, and breaks up what would otherwise be a long expanse of black.

The collar converts

Worn open, it's a wide notched lapel in the teddy fabric — relaxed, and it frames a scarf well.

Zipped all the way up, it becomes a high funnel collar that closes over the chin with a buckle strap at the throat. On a genuinely cold day that's the difference between a coat that looks warm and one that is.

Both materials are synthetic

The shell is PU faux leather and the textured sections are a faux shearling. No animal products are used, and we'd rather state that clearly than let the word "fur" do ambiguous work.

Warmth and weather

The teddy fabric holds a real layer of air, so this is considerably warmer than an unlined leather jacket — a proper winter coat rather than a three-season one. The leather panels block wind well, which on a cold exposed day matters more than raw insulation.

What it won't do is keep you dry in sustained rain. Faux shearling absorbs water and takes a long time to dry, and the skirt is the part that catches it. Treat this as wind-and-cold protection with an umbrella, not as waterproof outerwear.

The cut

Straight and easy through the body rather than fitted, falling to just above the knee. Two patch pockets at the chest and two lower down, all in the contrasting fabric. Full-length zip.

Because it isn't nipped at the waist, it layers over a jumper comfortably — which is what you want from a coat rather than a jacket.

Sizing

Available in M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL, in black.

We previously showed a measurement table here and have removed it. The figures turned out to be duplicated from a different product in our range and didn't match this coat's actual size run, so we've taken them down rather than leave up numbers we can't stand behind. We're getting the correct measurements from the manufacturer.

In the meantime: these are cut on Asian sizing, which runs one to two sizes smaller than UK equivalents, so most UK customers should order at least one size up from their usual. You'll also want room for a jumper underneath in winter, which is another reason to size up rather than down.

Care

Two fabrics, two sets of rules, and neither should be treated like real leather.

Never use leather conditioner, wax or polish on the PU panels — the oils degrade the coating permanently. Wipe them with a damp cloth and mild soap.

The teddy sections mat if they're agitated, so spot-clean rather than washing, and brush gently with a soft brush to keep the pile lofted. Air dry only, well away from radiators. Don't machine wash, tumble dry or iron. Hang it rather than folding, since creases in faux leather can set permanently.
