Product Description

A padded, quilted winter coat with a fur-trimmed hood — the warmest thing in our women's range, and the one to buy if you want something that genuinely handles a cold January rather than just looking the part.

Warmth, properly

This isn't a lined jacket, it's an insulated coat. The body is quilted in a chevron pattern through the lower half and vertically down the sleeves, which keeps the padding evenly distributed instead of migrating to the hem. The mid-thigh length covers the gap a short jacket leaves, which is where cold usually gets to you.

The hood is edged with a deep fur ruff, colour-matched to each coat. Beyond the look, a fur-trimmed hood does real work in wind — it breaks the airflow across your face in a way a plain hood can't.

Most leather-look outerwear doesn't have a hood at all. In British weather that's the difference between being caught out by a shower and simply pulling it up.

The shape

Cut slim and shaped through the waist with princess seams, so it follows the figure rather than hanging straight — unusual for a padded coat, which tends to add bulk. Welt pockets at the hip, and a concealed placket over the front zip.

Six colours

Black is the versatile default. Brown is warmer and easier with navy and cream. Blue sits between the two.

Wine red, purple and dark purple are where this coat gets interesting — deep, saturated shades that read as considered rather than loud, and considerably harder to find in winter outerwear than another black coat. The wine red in particular photographs beautifully.

PU, honestly

The shell is PU — synthetic leather, not animal hide. We'd rather say that plainly. It needs no conditioning, doesn't stiffen in cold weather, wipes clean after a wet walk home, and costs a fraction of what the equivalent in hide would.

The manufacturer hasn't specified whether the hood trim is real or faux fur. We're confirming this and will update the page. If it matters to your decision — and for many people it does — please email us before ordering and we'll get you a definite answer rather than a guess.

Size guide

Measurements are of the garment itself, in centimetres — not body measurements. Lay a coat you already own flat, measure across it, and match it to the table.

Allow 2–3cm variance, as these are measured by hand.

Note that sleeve and length stop increasing above 4XL — the larger sizes add width across the bust and shoulders rather than extra length. If you're tall as well as broader, bear that in mind.

These are Asian sizes and run one to two sizes smaller than UK equivalents, so most UK customers should order at least one size up. This is a slim fit as well, which compounds it, and you'll want room for a jumper underneath in winter — between those factors, sizing up is almost always right here.

Care

Three different materials, three different needs. Never use leather conditioner, wax or polish on the PU shell — the oils break down the surface coating permanently; wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap instead. Brush the hood trim gently with a soft brush rather than washing it, and never comb it while wet. Air dry the whole coat away from radiators and direct heat: heat flattens the padding, and once the loft is gone the coat stops being warm. Don't machine wash, tumble dry or iron. Hang it rather than folding, since creases in PU can become permanent.
